FREE FLY FISHING CLINIC
The Nevada Department of Wildlife will be holding
a free, three-day fly fishing clinic starting on Friday September
5th in Elko. The three-day clinic starts at the Elko City Park where
casting will be taught to beginners and pointers given to those
who are more advanced. On Saturday, the class will head up to Angel
Lake to learn about stillwater fishing for trout. The class will
wrap up on Sunday with a trip to one of Elko County’s streams
to learn how to fish moving water. The stream to be fished on Sunday
will not be determined until that time depending upon water conditions.
There are a limited number of fly rods and reels available for
anglers to borrow, though anglers should plan on providing their
own waders. Class space is limited and participants do need to pre-register.
For more information or to register for the class, please call Joe
Doucette at 775-777-2305.
