NDOW HOSTS NATURE AT NIGHT

The Nevada Department of Wildlife has announced it will be hosting "Nature at Night", an exciting opportunity for families to catch a rare glimpse of night time wildlife. The event will start at Rock Park in Sparks with bat and owl games and activities. From there participants will bike, trike, scoot, or skate along the Truckee River Bike Path to the McCarran Bridge where a colony of approximately 80,000 Mexican Free-Tail bats spend the summer months. After watching the bats take off into the sunset families will meet at Oxbow Nature Study Area. At Oxbow participants will be guided on a walk through the study area to search for owls, deer, and other night time wildlife. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water and bug spray.
