NDOW OFFERS MUZZLELOADER SHOOTING CLASS

The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) will host an introductory muzzleloading class November 9 from 7 p.m. -10 p.m. at the Clark County Shooting Range Education Center.

"More and more outdoorsmen are picking up muzzleloaders for hunting and target shooting, and this class is a great start for those who are looking for an additional challenge,” said Doug Nielsen, Conservation Education supervisor for NDOW. "Whether you hunt or just shoot at targets, muzzleloading is a fun challenge. I really enjoy it.

The muzzleloading class will have a brief lecture on the various types of muzzleloading rifles available today and their safety features. Techniques for loading and shooting will be practiced after the lecture. Participants can expect the class to last approximately three hours and they will have the opportunity to load and shoot a flintlock, percussion cap and modern day in-line rifle. The class also will include instruction on the proper cleaning and storage of muzzleloading firearms.
