NDOW OFFERS MUZZLELOADER SHOOTING CLASS
The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) will host an introductory muzzleloading class Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. until noon at the Clark County Shooting Range Education Center.
"More and more outdoorsman are picking up muzzleloaders for hunting and target shooting, it allows them to hunt a different time of year and offers more of a challenge," said Doug Nielsen, Conservation Education supervisor for NDOW.
The muzzleloading class will have a brief lecture on the various types of muzzleloading rifles available today, including safe handling and techniques for loading and shooting. Participants can expect the class to last approximately three hours and will have the opportunity to load and shoot flintlock, percussion cap and modern in-line rifles. The class also will include a brief lecture and instruction in the proper cleaning and storage of muzzleloading firearms. There is no charge for the class, however seating is limited and reservations are required. For information and registration contact Martin Olson at (702) 486-5127 x 3501.
