NDOW TO OFFER BEGINNING SHOTGUN CLASS

The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) will host an introductory shotgun class Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Clark County Shooting Range Shotgun Center.

Participants can expect a brief lecture on safety considerations, the rules of safe gun handling and techniques for shooting trap.

Following the classroom discussion, participants will have the opportunity to shoot clay targets using 20-gauge shotguns. Students will learn the proper shooting stance and become familiar with the rules of range etiquette that shooters need to know before they participate in trap shooting. In addition, students will learn the various shotgun types and their differences, loads and styles of shotgun shooting.  The class also will include instruction in the proper cleaning and storage of shotguns.

There is no charge for the class and all ammunition and shotguns are provided, however, space is limited so reservations are required. For more information and registration contact Martin Olson at (702) 486-5127 x 3501.
