BEGINNER’S FISHING CLINIC
No matter what their age, anyone interested in learning how to
fish can take advantage of a beginner’s fishing clinic sponsored
by the Nevada Department of Wildlife. The free clinic will start
at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 4 at Floyd Lamb Park near Durango and
Highway 95. The class will cover casting skills, fish identification,
bait and lure selection along with the basics of knot tying. Students
will also get a chance to put their newfound skills to the test.
A Nevada fishing license is required for participants who are 12
years old or older.
Registration for the class begins Monday, March 23, at 8 a.m. For
more information and registration contact Ivy Santee, (702) 486-5127
x 3503, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) protects, restores and
manages fish and wildlife, promotes fishing, hunting, and boating
safety. NDOW’s wildlife and habitat conservation efforts are
primarily funded by sportsmen’s license and conservation fees
and a federal surcharge on hunting and fishing gear. Support wildlife
and habitat conservation in Nevada by purchasing a hunting, fishing,
or combination license. For more information, visit www.ndow.org.
