History

Fuji Park Pond was changed to Baily Fishing Pond in early 2011, but the pond was completed in early 2010. It is located in Carson City at the bottom of Clear Creek in Fuji Park that is managed by Carson City Parks and Recreation.

Pertinent Information

Baily Fishing Pond is 1 acre and about 15 ft deep. Water is diverted from Clear Creek, keeping the pond cool and allowing for good trout fishing all year. There is a fishing pier and multiple flat-topped boulders along the shore from which to fish. Anglers average catching 2 to 4 fish per day.

Stocking

3,000 catchable rainbow trout will be stocked in spring and 2,000 in fall. Up to 1,000 brown trout also will be stocked in the spring.

Regulations

Season is open year around during the hours the park is open to the public. Daily and possession limit is 3 game fish.

Biologist Prediction for 2013

Angling pressure should continue to be heavy and fishing good following stocking of 8-10 inch trout.

Access

From Carson City, head south on Highway 395. Turn west on Clear Creek Road (about 1/2 mile south of Hwy 50) to Fuji Park entrance next to the rodeo arena. Cross Clear Creek to access the parking area.
