*Note to bighorn sheep tag holders: In light of COVID-19, the safety of our sportsmen and women and NDOW staff is the highest priority. We wanted to remind you that Nevada Administrative Code requires the physical inspection (check-in) of bighorn sheep. Physical check-ins may create situations where social distancing could be compromised. Please click on this attached notice for rules to follow while checking in all bighorn sheep. Also, be sure to call ahead before visiting an NDOW office to ensure NDOW personnel are available to physically inspect harvested animals.
You can apply for a bighorn sheep tag on ndowlicensing.com during Nevada's big game application period in March. Please view the Hunt Application Process and Deadlines page for details about application deadlines and rules, and for requests for application materials.
Those who draw a bighorn sheep tag are encouraged to attend one of the department’s bighorn sheep workshops offered each year prior to the hunting season. Attendees will learn about the biology of this coveted big game animal as well as how to judge and age them in the field.
