The dates are set for the 2013 camp Maison T. Ortiz Youth Outdoors Skills Camp (MTOYOSC) which will be held on July 19th, 20th, and 21st at Winnemucca Ranch and the Nevada Department of Wildlife is again a partner. Organizers plan on registering 48 campers for this year’s event. This camp has been a tremendous success in its first two years thanks largely to the efforts of volunteers and youth mentors and would not have happened without their dedication and hard work. See how the ranch is transformed into the camp and the 2012 MTOYOSC video.
Because of the camp’s success more and more people are offering to volunteer, but there is still space for a limited number of camp ambassadors in 2013. Any volunteers that will have direct contact with the campers, or who will be at the camp site when the campers are present, must be fingerprinted and undergo a full State and FBI background check which will be paid for by MTOYOSC. Please find the volunteer registration packet on the MTOYOSC Face Book page, which consists of the "2013 Camp Counselor and Volunteer Registration" form, the "Civil Applicant Waiver" form, and the "Request for Electronic Fingerprints" form for your use. So that we can ensure the proper number of volunteers at this year’s event we are requesting that the completed "Counselor and Volunteer Registration" and "Civil Applicant Waiver" forms be returned to us by Wednesday, April 24th.
