A Voice Behind Boating Safety in Nevada

Dave Patula, a game warden stationed in Reno Nevada, has served for more than 27 years for the Department of Wildlife. Besides boating law enforcement, he has been the voice behind Bobby the Boat for almost ten years.

Dave has a dedication to boating safety, especially regarding children and life jackets. You can always find Dave talking to parents, schools and kids—through Bobby—about the importance of lifejackets, boating safety and education.

“Dave has as much dedication as any person I have ever met,” said Rob Buonamici, the chief game warden in the state. “Dave makes a difference every day to countless people.”

Dave has many duties, enforcing fishing and hunting regulations, patrolling Nevada’s waterways and keeping the public safe in the vast Nevada out back. Still, he has time to talk to people—individual boaters—one on one to help each and every one as safe as possible on the water. It is hard to imagine all the boaters he has impacted over the years with his dedication to safety and good sense on the water.
