- There is no open season on those species of wild animal, wild bird, fish, reptile or amphibian classified as protected.
- There is no closed season on those species of wild animals or wild birds classified as unprotected.

Nevada Administrative Code1. Are all species of mammals which are not classified as game, fur-bearing, protected, threatened or endangered animals.

Spilogale gracilis Striped Mephitis mephitis (d) Weasel Long-tailed Mustela frenata Short-tailed Mustela cicognanii And all species of mammals which are not classified as game, fur-bearing, protected, threatened or endangered animals. These include marmots, chipmunks, English house sparrows, starlings, porcupines, skunks, rats, moles, voles, pocket gophers.
