TEACH YOUR STUDENTS TO BE WILD!
The Nevada Department of Wildlife is conducting a “Project Wild” workshop for anyone who teaches about the environment. This includes school teachers, principals, classroom aids, home school parents, girl and boy-scout leaders, church group leaders and more.
The workshop will take place at the Nevada Department of Wildlife office (60 Youth Center Rd.) in Elko from 8:00 -4:30 on Saturday, May 12, 2007.
Project WILD is one of the most widely-used conservation and environmental education programs among educators of students in kindergarten through high school. It is based on the premise that young people and educators have a vital interest in learning about our natural world. Project WILD addresses the need for human beings to develop as responsible citizens of our planet.
For those interested, the workshop is being offered for one half of one state of Nevada renewal credit. Each workshop participant will receive free of charge, the latest Project WILD K-12 Curriculum and Activity Guide. There is no charge for the workshop, but space is limited and participants must pre-register.
For more information or to reserve your spot in the class, call Norv Dallin at the Nevada Department of Wildlife at 775-777-2391 or email ndallin@ndow.org.
The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) protects, restores and manages fish and wildlife, and promotes fishing, hunting, and boating safety. NDOW’s wildlife and habitat conservation efforts are primarily funded by sportsmen’s license and conservation fees and a federal surcharge on hunting and fishing gear. Support wildlife and habitat conservation in Nevada by purchasing a hunting, fishing, or combination license. For more information, visit www.ndow.org.
