ANGEL LAKE KIDS FISHING DERBY
If you’re looking to cool off in July, then bring your children
to the Angel Lake Kids Fishing Derby at Angel Lake, just outside
of Wells on Saturday, July 19. This derby is for kids 15 and under
and is sponsored by the US Forest Service (USFS), Wells Rural Electric
Company (WREC), Wells Chamber of Commerce, Wells Family Resource
Center, US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the Nevada Department
of Wildlife (NDOW).
Besides the fishing derby, kids will have the chance to visit educational
stations including a NDOW fish stocking truck, boating safety, fly
tying, casting, fish identification and cleaning. There will be
prizes awarded in 5 age groups as well as a free drawing for prizes
from participants at large. Following the derby, there will be a
free chilidog lunch served for the whole family.
Registration starts at 7:30 and the derby starts at 8:15. There
is no charge for the derby but children must be accompanied by a
responsible adult. For more information contact the Wells Chamber

The Nevada Department of Wildlife is the state agency responsible
for the restoration and management of fish and wildlife resources,
and the promotion of boating safety on Nevada’s waters. Wildlife
