NDOW OFFERS BOWFISHING WORKSHOP

Have you ever wondered what bowfishing is or where you could go to learn more about this unique outdoor sport? You are not alone, so the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is holding an introductory bowfishing workshop that will give participants a practical introduction to this unique outdoor pursuit that combines archery with angling. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 21 at Veterans’ Memorial Park in Boulder City.

This workshop is designed to accommodate individuals 10 years of age or older who have some previous archery experience. Taught by NDOW staff, this workshop will include a 45-minute instruction period followed by a hands-on shooting experience. Participants will have the chance to try their hand with a bow and arrows and shoot at foam carp targets that have been submerged in the park pond.

Registration begins Monday, Aug. 16. Space is limited. For more information or to register call Chris Cheff, 702-486-5127 x 3504.
