NEVADA DUCK STAMP AVAILABLE FREE FOR ELIGIBLE HUNTERS

Once again the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is offering a Free Nevada Duck Stamp for eligible hunters.  Hunters who have purchased the current year duck stamp “privilege” over the internet or from a license agent offering the credit-card size Point of Sale licenses, have the opportunity to also receive a real “lickem–stickem” stamp at the end of the waterfowl season.

For the purist, or for nostalgia’s sake, many hunters like to maintain a real copy of the year’s stamp, and here’s how to obtain a free, unissued waterfowl stamp.

Eligible hunters may request a free Nevada Duck Stamp from NDOW for the current 2012 License Year that ends February 29, 2012.  To obtain your free stamp, you must have purchased an “electronic stamp privilege” from one of NDOW’s regional customer service locations, a Nevada license agent (i.e., Wal-Mart) who issued you the electronic Point of Sale license with stamp privilege, or if you purchased the license and stamp privilege over the internet.

To obtain the free stamp, you must submit an order form to NDOW.  You can retrieve the order form from a license agent or from NDOW’s website. The completed order form can be hand-delivered, mailed, faxed, or emailed to the address listed on the form.

If you are eligible and wish to obtain the free Nevada Duck Stamp for License Year 2012 (American Wigeon), NDOW must be in receipt of your order form no later than March 31, 2012.  Because the unissued stamp can only be made available once it is considered “expired,” the License Year 2012 stamp will not be provided to the requester until after the close of the 2012 license year (February 29, 2012).  Those who request this stamp can expect receipt not later than April 2012.

Only one free stamp per license year will be provided to the requester upon verification of eligibility.  The free stamp will be mailed to the requester through the United States Postal Service.

These order forms are not to be used for obtaining the “collectors” stamp.  There is a separate “collector stamp order form” listed on the website for such fee-based stamps.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) protects, restores and manages fish and wildlife, and promotes fishing, hunting, and boating safety. NDOW’s wildlife and habitat conservation efforts are primarily funded by sportsmen’s license and conservation fees and a federal surcharge on hunting and fishing gear. Support wildlife and habitat conservation in Nevada by purchasing a hunting, fishing, or combination license. Find us on Facebook or Twitter.
