NDOW SPONSORS SPIN FISHING CLINIC
The Nevada Department of Wildlife is offering a two-day still-water beginning spin fishing clinic on July 15 and 16. The Friday evening session will take place at the Verdi Elementary School from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This session will cover rod and reel selection, casting, line selection, basic knots and rigging for lure, bait and fly fishing with spinning gear. The Saturday morning on-the-water session will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Location for on-the-water session will be announced Friday evening. Participants will use the information and techniques that were covered in the Friday evening session.
WHAT - Class is geared for entry-level anglers. Instructors will demonstrate reading water, basic spinning and fly-fishing techniques for trout.
WHEN - Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, 2011. Friday night's class is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday morning on the water session will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
WHERE - Friday evening at the Verdi Elementary School, 250 Bridge Street, Verdi. Saturday morning TBA

AGES - An adult must accompany all children. Participants age 12 and up are required to have a valid Nevada fishing license.
BRING - Participants are requested to provide their own tackle. A limited number of rods are available for use by those who do not have their own fishing equipment. Note: A fishing license is required for those 12 years of age and older.
