NDOW TO HOST ANTELOPE SEMINAR

Southern Nevada hunters who would like to learn more about pursuing the state's pronghorn antelope can do so by attending a free informational workshop hosted by the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). The workshop is intended for those who were successful in obtaining an antelope tag for the 2011 season, but anyone may attend.

The workshop will be held July 6 at the Clark County Shooting Park Education Center, 11357 N. Decatur Blvd., and will begin at 6 p.m. Subject matter will include the biology and life history of antelope, game care, taxidermy, hunting laws and regulations, safety concerns, and field scoring.

"This is not a mandatory training course, but anyone with an interest in hunting antelope will benefit from the information provided, especially anyone who has never hunted antelope," said Doug Nielsen, public affairs supervisor for NDOW.

The shooting park gate closes at 7:00 p.m. so those planning to attend need to be prompt. Reservations are not required, but seating is limited. For more information call NDOW at 486-5127 x 3501.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) protects, restores and manages fish and wildlife, and promotes fishing, hunting, and boating safety. NDOW's wildlife and habitat conservation efforts are primarily funded by sportsmen's license and conservation fees and a federal surcharge on hunting and fishing gear. Support wildlife and habitat conservation in Nevada by purchasing a hunting, fishing, or combination license. For more information, visit www.ndow.org.
