Introduction to Fly-fishing

The Nevada Department of Wildlife will hold an introductory fly-fishing class Saturday, Nov. 19 at Floyd Lamb Park near Highway 95 and Durango in the northwest portion of Las Vegas Valley. Participants will learn fly-fishing terminology, casting techniques and how to select the needed equipment. The class will be held in the old ranch house starting at 9 a.m. and concluding at 1 p.m. There is no charge for this class and the necessary equipment will be provided.

Due to space limitations, registration is required and will begin on Monday, Nov. 7 at 8 a.m. To register for the class, or for more information, contact Ivy Santee at 702-486-5127, ext. 3500.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) protects, restores and manages fish and wildlife, and promotes fishing, hunting, and boating safety. NDOW’s wildlife and habitat conservation efforts are primarily funded by sportsmen’s license and conservation fees and a federal surcharge on hunting and fishing gear. Support wildlife and habitat conservation in Nevada by purchasing a hunting, fishing, or combination license. Find us on Facebook or Twitter.
