Free family fishing clinic
The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) will hold a free fishing clinic for families and people of all ages Saturday, Oct. 15 at Floyd Lamb Park located off Durango and Highway 95 in the northwest corner of the Las Vegas Valley. The event will get underway at 9 a.m.
NDOW volunteers will teach participants such fishing basics as how to choose baits or lures, casting techniques and how to tie essential fishing knots. The clinic will be held on the shoreline of Tule Pond. A Nevada fishing license is required for those who are 12 years of age and older. To register for this class, or for more information, contact Ivy Santee at 486-5127 x 3503. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3.
The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) protects, restores and manages fish and wildlife, promotes fishing, hunting, and boating safety. NDOW’s wildlife and habitat conservation efforts are primarily funded by sportsmen’s license and conservation fees and a Federal surcharge on hunting and fishing gear. Support wildlife and habitat conservation in Nevada by purchasing a hunting, fishing, or combination license.
