NDOW BOATING SAFETY AND FACILITIES PARTNERSHIP
GRANT PROGRAM
The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) invites boating organizations
and individuals to apply for the Nevada Department of Wildlife boating
safety and facilities partnership grant program. Grants will be
accepted immediately until June 1, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
“We are delighted to be able to help deserving institutions
further the cause of boating safety. Boating safety in Clark County
is a big job, and the more organizations and people that get involved
the better,” said David Pfiffner, game warden lieutenant for
NDOW, and the administrator of the program.
The Boating Safety and Facilities Grant program is to be used only
for the development and implementation of boating safety programs,
and facility development within Clark County. The projects should
target improved boater awareness of safe boating practices and boating
safety enforcement. Priority consideration will be given to partnership
projects targeting improving boating safety education and enforcement
among boaters with in Clark County which both complement and reinforce
NDOW’s boating safety programs.
Grant applicants will be notified no later than July 1, 2009 of
award or denial. Funds will be distributed after July 1st upon completion
of grant allocation agreements and/or funding receipt from Clark
County. To be eligible, applicants must be city, county, state and
federal governments or registered as a 501-C3 Not-For-Profit organization
that has a proven record of direct involvement in boating enforcement
and education initiatives in Clark County.
The Boating Safety and Facilities Grant Program is administered
by the Nevada Department of Wildlife for Clark County. The program
is designed to facilitate boating safety programs, including but
not limited to boating enforcement and education within the greater
Clark County waterways.
To apply for a grant all eligible participants may pick up a project
proposal packet at the Nevada Department of Wildlife office at 4747
W. Vegas Dr. Las Vegas, NV 89109 or call Brooke Van Haitsma at (702)

County.
