NDOW SPONSORS INTRODUCTION TO BASS FISHING
CLINIC
Entry-level anglers will learn everything from bass fishing techniques
to which bait to use at a free clinic sponsored by the Nevada Department
of Wildlife on Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mason
Valley Hatchery. Pre-registration is required, and the class is
limited to the first 20 who enroll. The minimum age is 10.
What: Introduction to Bass Fishing is geared for
entry level anglers. We will demonstrate bass fishing techniques
for fly fishing and spin fishing. Class will cover float tube safety,
gear, lures, spinner baits and fly patterns.
When: Saturday May 16, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Mason Valley Hatchery, north of Yerington.
The class will proceed to Hinkson Slough after introductions. This
is a special regulation water - artificial lures only. It is unlawful
to possess black bass between 11 and 14 inches total length. Limit
on black bass is 2. Limit on trout is 2 with a minimum size of 16
inches.
Sign-ups: Pre-registration is required and opens

Ages: Minimum 10 years of age.
Bring: Participants are requested to provide their
own tackle. A limited number of rods are available for use by those
who do not have their own fishing equipment. Note: A fishing license
is required for those 12 years of age and older.
Cost: Free. There is no charge for attendance;
however, each student shall furnish materials called for in the
outline.
