NDOW SPONSORS KIDS CARP DERBY
The entire family can hook a good time at the Kids Carp Derby on
June 6 from 8 a.m. to noon at Lahontan Reservoir. The Nevada Department
of Wildlife is sponsoring the derby, and staff and volunteers will
be available to teach the little ones how to drop a line. Prizes
will be awarded for the largest carp caught by children in different
age categories.
This free event is open to all, however registration is required.

WHAT: Kids Carp Derby
WHEN: Saturday, June 6, 2009, starting at 8:00
a.m. and ending at noon.
WHERE: Meeting place will be at Beach 2 located
at the dam side of Lahontan Reservoir. Beach 2 is located across
the river and dam, second beach past the entrance fee booth.
SIGN-UPS: Registration is required. For more information
call the Department of Wildlife at 688-1559.
AGES: Minimum 3 years of age. A parent or guardian
must accompany all children under 16.
BRING: Participants are requested to provide their
own tackle. A limited number of rods are available for use by those
who do not have their own fishing equipment.
Note: A fishing license is required for those
12 years of age and older.
