About NDOW
Publications - Wildlife Water Development Atlas
The
new edition of the Wildlife Water Development Atlas is finally in!
(what's a guzzler?)
The new book is available in all NDOW offices for
$40.
Water developments are water tanks that have been placed on public
land w here
rainwater is collected and stored for use by large and small birds,
mammals and reptiles. A variety of agencies, including the Bureau
of Land Management, United States Fish and Wildlife Service, United
States Forest Service, and Federal Aid for Wildlife Restoration
have installed more than 1500 guzzlers statewide.
The map atlas consists of 72 pages of topographic maps that cover
the entire state. Besides giving locations of the water developments,
they are good references for finding springs, roads and trails,
mountains and valleys.
All money that NDOW receives from the sale of the books will be
used to print additional atlases.
