Hunt Nevada
Tags & Applications
What is there to hunt in Nevada?
Big Game - Mule deer, elk,
pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep and mountain goats all require
tags to be hunted. The tag application period is from mid-March
to mid-April. Most tags are awarded through a random draw
process in early June and are available to those 12 years old or
older. A second drawing is conducted for remaining tags in early
July, and any remaining tags after that draw can be applied for
on a first-come, first-served basis. Mountain lion tags are available
year-round over the counter at any authorized license agent or can
be purchased online during the draw application period. Click here for Big Game Application Information.
A second drawing is conducted for remaining tags in June, and any
remaining tags after that draw can be applied for on a first-come,
first-served basis.
Upland Game: Anyone 12-years of age or older who
hunts upland game such as sage-grouse, blue and ruffed grouse, Himalayan
snow partridge, chukar, Hungarian partridge, quail and pheasant
must have an upland game bird stamp in addition to a hunting license
while hunting. A upland game stamp is not required to hunt crows,
turkey, cottontail or white-tailed jackrabbit.
Migratory Game Birds and Waterfowl: A hunting
license and both state and federal duck stamps are generally required
to hunt waterfowl in Nevada (check regulations for youth hunting
and stamp requirement information). Waterfowl include: swan, ducks,
mergansers and geese.
