    Fishing Clinics

    The Nevada Department of Wildlife offers fishing clinics through its regional angler education programs for students of all ages. All clinics require pre-registration and are subject to change or cancellation depending on weather conditions. Call the Department of Wildlife at (702) 486-5127 for Las Vegas and the surrounding area.

    We hope our class schedules can fit your schedules and needs. If not, check out free classes offered by other organizations.

    Southern Nevada
    Fishing Clinic Schedule

    Registration begins two weeks prior to the start of classes.

    Beginners Fishing Clinics for all ages.

    These classes are designed for the beginner with little to no experience with fishing. Students will learn; knot tying, casting skills, baits and lures, fish identification, and much more. All equipment is provided free of charge.

    Beginners Fly Tying Classes

    This class is for beginners who would like to learn how to tie their own fishing flies. All materials and equipment are provided free of charge.

    Introduction to Fly Fishing Workshops

    This class is designed for those who would like to learn more about the sport of fly fishing. The class covers basic terminology, equipment needed, knot tying, and basic casting skills. The class is setup in 2 parts with the first part covering the lecture portions and is held at the NDOW office on Vegas Drive in the morning and the 2nd part in the afternoon at a park location for the casting portion.

    * - Intro to Fly Fishing is a two-day class.

    # - Registration is required and is being handled by the Boulder City Parks and Rec. Dept. located at 900 Arizona Ave, Boulder City (702) 293-9256. There is a $5.00 fee for this class.

    Las Vegas Jr. Fly Fishing Club

    This club is for families with kids 7 and older who would like to learn about the sport of fly fishing together. The group meets monthly, with the exception of July and August. For more information visit their website at www.lvjrflyfishing.com.
