| 2010 was a great year for my family! My brother Bryan drew an Antelope tag for 121, my dad drew a buck tag for 114/115, and I drew an early bull tag. My brother harvested his antelope after a mile stalk. Unfortunately my dad wasn't able to find a buck that met his standards so that went unfilled. My hunting fun ended on opening day (11-6-2010) when this herd bull came over a ridge right after sunrise in area 114. I planned on hunting for the full two weeks, but couldn't resist this one! Thanks NDOW. - Brandon Brooks |

| These are my best photos of the year. The funniest one I took lately was of the bugling elk, called him in with just my mouth no calls from over a 1000 yards out and he came in and put on a show rolling around in the mud and bugling the whole time while doing it. P.S. I thought I had a picture of every big game animal is Elko county but I was proved wrong because there is now a moose and I did say moose outside Wells. All photo's taken by Gordon Smith of West Wendover Nevada 2010. |

| This picture is of my godson and I, on his first hunting trip. I had a tag for horns shorter than ears and successfully filled it. As we all now it's not how big your animal is, it's the excitement of sharing the hunt with someone new. My godson was so excited when he got to go with me, as I was to. I shot this antelope at 575 yards ,which made him more excited because he was on this hunt .His mom told me after he was home that's all he could talk about for a week. So that made me very happy. I will be taking him again in October on a deer hunt. Hunt safely and with ethics - Bill Snyder |
This buck was taken on Friday, Sept. 17th, 2010 by my son Parker Dixon in Area 10, Unit 101 in the Secret Pass area with his muzzleloader. It took us several hours to pack him out. It was a great hunt over three days. We saw many bucks of this size and one or two larger. Fun to be with my boy who enjoys hunting as much as I do. - David S. Dixon |

| My son Raymond Day just caught this beauty out of the Truckee river (white water park) Brown Trout, 6 lbs. 25 1/2" and 12"girth! He caught it using a 5' ultralight with the smallest spincast reel, but the lure he was using was very big! Can't remember what it was, but it was a Rapala jointed about 5". He is really getting good at catching the big ones! A force to be reckoned with! |

My dad and I went on Saturday 7-10-10 and after getting the required permits arrived at the lake at around 8:00 a.m. Not really knowing where to fish on the Reservoir we decided to try the west side of the lake. We fished for about an hour and a half with no luck, not even seeing any fish, and then I finally hooked up with my first fish from Weber Reservoir a beautiful 22" 8lb 14oz largemouth bass!! I caught him on a black rubber worm in about 6 feet of water next to some brush piles. I usually don't keep the fish I catch, but since this was the biggest bass I’ve ever caught I was going to get it mounted, so I put it on a stringer and hung it on the outside of the boat. About an hour later my dad caught a bass around 17" and he was going to keep his fish so when he went to put it on the stringer that’s when we found out the 22" bass that I caught had somehow come off of the stringer. So we know that there is at least one 8lb 14oz bass in there still. Oh well maybe next time. - Bruce Castro. |
On 6/5/10 at 8 p.m. on Lake mead at Boulder Bay, I caught a 44lb 2oz carp on 10lb line, #2 hook and worm and it took a little over 30 minutes to get it in. It was scaled on a nice digital scale, because there were no wildlife people in the area or at the guard shack to weigh it in as the state record. My son was with me as well as my son in law. We kept it in the water to find someone but nothing, so we released it. We always fish and release. It sure would of been great to have that certified but what can you do. The guy fishing with his daughter next to us a little ways couldn't believe the size of it, he said it was bigger than his daughter. Now I want a bigger one, that was fun. - Ron Longstreet |
Caught by Joe Sasgen at Southfork Reservoir on 7/15/2010. I have been an Elko resident for 4 years and this is the first fish I have caught at Southfork, caught on a worm just off the bottom close to the dam. It was 20" long and weighed just over 4 lbs. |

| Last Friday night after work on 7/2/10 my wife, Ruby Lee, nephew Pete Bartmus and I (Kensen Lee) drove down to Lake Mead to go stripper fishing with my friend Capt. Don Martin, on Lake Mead. We were on the water by 9PM and started fishing at 10PM, Don was first to get his line in the water and within a few minutes he had the first fish. 5-1/2 hours later we had to quit, our three ice chest were completely full of strippers and a few catfish. Our final count was 203 strippers and 8 channel cats for a total of 211 fish from Lake Mead. The largest fish was caught by my wife Ruby it was 2.10 lbs., our top 10 weighed 17.30 lbs. and the top 40 fish weighed 52.25 lbs. It was on heck of a night of fishing! - Kensen Lee |
