Help NDOW, in coordination with USFS Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, plant bitterbrush seedlings to restore crucial mule deer habitat in the Area 7 migration corridor after the 2022 Wildcat Fire. Volunteers should arrive at the meeting site (see directions written below an map attached) by 10am on the morning of Friday, November 3rd. From the meeting site we will caravan to the planting site. High clearance 4WD vehicles required, carpooling encouraged. Volunteers should bring work gloves, water and snacks. Please check the weather and dress appropriately. This is a family friendly project! Note: Project is weather dependent.

Driving Directions to the meeting site at Gibbs Ranch:
Traveling from Wells, the site is most easily reached by heading north on Metropolis Road out of Wells until it merges with the O’Neil-Deeth County Road. Head north on the O’Neil-Deeth County Road for approximately 16 miles. Continue west towards the southern entrance of the Gibbs Ranch for 0.5 miles to the caravan meeting point. Access to the planting site from the meeting point requires high clearance vehicles with 4WD, carpooling is encouraged.
