These ponds are part of the water system utilized by the Nevada Department of Wildlife for rearing fish at Mason Valley Hatchery. There are a total of six ponds of which four are open to fishing for one day a year, the first Saturday in May.

Fishing Report
The ponds are stocked with Rainbow Trout prior to May each year and fishing for trout is usually good. Largemouth Bass also inhabit the ponds and occasionally are caught.

Pertinent Information
The Yerington Lions Club hosts a kids fishing derby on the first Saturday of May, annually. Limit is 3 game fish of which not more than one may be black bass. The ponds are closed to fishing for the remainder of the year and are utilized for settling of water that has cycled through the hatchery system. These ponds are connected to Hinkson Slough which is open to fishing from the second Saturday in February until September 30th.
