Natural History
The Ross’s Goose breeds in the arctic tundra regions of Canada and migrates to lower parts of North America in the winter. Adults form monogamous pairs, and females incubate the eggs while the male guards the nest. They eat a variety of plant matter that varies seasonally, but their diet consists mainly of green grasses and sedges.
