Wildlife-viewing within the meadows, hills, and shorelines of the recreation area is available year-round. The expansive reservoir provides opportunities for anglers to catch catfish, bass, and trophy-size trout. Camping is provided in varying forms, ranging from primitive to RV hookups. Seasonal water sports and hunting opportunities are also available.
